Three considerations for improving diverse game narratives and characters

GamesIndustry.biz

In the past decade, video games have gotten visibly more diverse than titles with just straight white men as the player character or on the box art. But more diverse-looking games doesn't always mean that narratives have necessarily gotten richer or less problematic, especially when many major studios still consist of predominantly white teams. Founded in 2018, Sweet Baby Inc. is a Montreal-based narrative development and consultation studio, with credited projects include God of War: Ragnarok,

Honestly, the entire movie is pretty funny, but it’s filled with a ton of action including one particularly great scene in their house.

On the issue of external versus internal promotions, why do you think game developers (and many other kinds of companies in general) are so reluctant to promote an internal person they know but hand it out freely to some outsider they don’t?

Ask a Game Dev

There are some various theories on this floating around and they seem like they could be reasonable, but I am genuinely not sure. Theory A: Hiring Entry Level is more of a gamble When you promote someone, you leave a lower-level position empty that needs filling. Hiring for entry level is often a much bigger gamble than hiring mid- or senior-level with a proven track record and work history, and it takes significantly longer to see whether the gamble on an entry level hire pays off.

How to get position relative to another node's child

Cocos

I tried convertToWorldSpaceAR and convertToNodeSpaceAR and so confused of them. let say the structure is like: -NodeA –Child —Target –Child —Target -MoveObject I am moving my ‘MoveObject’ to ‘Target’, so I need the target position for my ‘MoveObject’ to move. I tried so many times like const worldPos = Target.parent.convertToWorldSpaceAR(Target.position); const movePos = MoveObject.convertToNodeSpaceAR(worldPos); but I don’t know actually how it works, although I read the doc. version: 2.4.
