Relic hit with layoffs following sale from Sega

Relic Entertainment has announced redundancies following its sale from Sega last week. In a statement shared on LinkedIn , the studio didn't specify the amount of employees who were let go. However, external development producer Robyn Smale said 41 people were affected by the decision. "Letting people go was not an easy decision, and was made solely with the goal of providing Relic the best possible chance to survive in an increasingly volatile industry," the firm said.

The purpose of doing things is ostensibly to generate value - no one does X without a reason. Report: Yu Miyake stepping down as producer on Dragon Quest

Can not load scene from AssetBundle (3.8.0 - 3.8.2)

Thanks for your willingness @chandanKrishnani , unfortunately, I did not figured out what happen and finally reverted to CC3.6 - which is running perfectly. The scene is not corrupted by any mean (I checked for missing script & referencens but no problem has been found). I also tried to load an empty scene, same result, same error. I firstly suspected that there is a problem with the script loading order (the previous bundle some how refer to the scripts in later- yet-to-loaded bundles) but

Can not load scene from AssetBundle (3.8.0 - 3.8.2)

I tried everything I can to load the scene in the bundle (web-mobile) and it never works in a Release build. Still working correctly in debug builds though. Sometimes, the scene is missing from build build (I tried to load all the scenes in bundle and it returns an empty array). Tried to delete everything (library, settings, temp …) and report seems to make it some what better (the scenes are now appear from the array).

[3.8.1] Use XCode 15.3 (MACOSX 14.4.1) Build iOS & mac platform failed

I just upgraded my macbook to newest version (MACOSX 14.4.1), and upgraded to XCode 15.3. Then I created new empty project with Cocos Creator v3.8.1. Try to test a simple, empty build, but failed when XCode builds (or using Cocos Creator ‘make’ button). All failed on compiling AudioPlayer.mm, about std::function. The following is the build error logs.

How to update project on new version

Sorry, I don’t actually have much experience with this, If your project has a large amount of code and is already very completed, it is generally not recommended to upgrade. Because it is vary easy to corrupt data files like scene and prefab. If your project is not that complicated, this corruption is acceptable, then you can upgrade engine. If a missing script error occurs, you have to manually fix each script and then remount it to prefab or scene.
