A big thankyou to all the contributors who worked on this release by implementing bug fixes or features, or testing the changes to spot potential regressions and help debug issues. Debugging: Many improvements to the editor's debugger and display of complex types. Physics: Add one-way collision to tile-set/tile-map.
Debug on hardware devices. It is also now now possible to debug a game running on an actual devices. Make sure to enable "Deploy Remote Debug" option in the remote options menu. If you have a device with Android 5.0+, Godot can take advantage and debug over the USB cable directly. Live scene editing.
Editor: Fix logic for showing tilemap debugcollision shapes ( GH-49075 ). Editor: Add custom debug shape thickness and color options to RayCast ( GH-49726 ). HTML5: Debug HTTP server refactor with SSL support ( GH-48250 ). Physics: Heightmap collision shape support in Godot Physics 3D ( GH-47349 ).

As a side benefit, you can look at the script in the inspector and see the Entity’s id which may be useful for a variety of debugging purposes. The collider for my characters was intentionally scaled down just a bit, to help avoid unintended physics collisions from adjacent units. So far my characters are about a unit wide.
A long-standing Bullet regression has finally been fixed ( GH-56801 ), solving issues with KinematicBody collisions on edges (e.g. seen as small bumps between tiles on a GridMap). Debugger: Add --debug-server command line option to listen for incoming connections ( GH-60819 ). Editor: Improve ColorPicker presets ( GH-54439 ).
The engine should be able to render and simulate 200+ lightweight game objects -- frame-animated sprites with simple collision, no fancy physics or shaders. I can easily throw ~200 sprites (that all share the same spritesheet) on the screen with basic overlap / collision tests at 720p resolution at a steady 30 FPS. and no WASM.)
