The East Asia games market generated $30.1 billion in 2023, and is expected to decline by 2.9% in 2024 to $29.2 billion according to a new report by Niko Partners. The East Asia Games Market Model report covers Japan and Korea, markets that also saw a slight increase in their number of gamers in 2023, to 96.3 million players. Mobile was the largest segment, accounting for 68.4% of revenue in the region.

NCsoft invests $3.5m in Moon Rover Games

Led by venture capital firm Transcend Fund, the investment will be used to develop its platform further and expand its core team of developers and engineers. I got in the industry to make games, and though I’ve worked in the industry for 8 years I don’t feel I’ve had a meaningful impact on any project I’ve worked on. I consistently feel underqualified in roles and yet continue to studio hop towards promotion without issue. I have never shipped a game. It sounds a lot like you're dealing with burnout. One of the quickest recipes for burnout is putting all of the value on the results of the work rather than finding the work itself inherently rewarding - valuing the explicit reward instead of an implicit one. These two aren't always causal, which can result in this disjointed feeling and lack of motivation.
