Friends, we have a really big problem. We just released our game, and unlike the Android version, we’re getting feedback that the game overheats excessively on iOS. The core logic is the same, but the problem only occurs on iOS. Here’s the current screen built with Xcode. As you can see, the battery impact is marked as very high. The shocking thing is… even if we build a new empty project, the battery impact still shows as very high on iOS… We are currently using Cocos Creator version 3.

Thanks for replying. It’s very bizarre, and the behavior is inconsistent. At one point yesterday, I was loading 20 sheets, but immediately after, I fell back to where I can load only 10, even after a game restart. I don’t think I’m failing to remove any frames from the cache. I’m not getting any errors, it simply doesn’t show a sprite. In fact, the sprite that I pull from the cache isn’t null, but nothing shows up.

Additionally, regarding your feedback about excessive battery consumption in empty scenes in version 3.8.3, after my testing, I was unable to reproduce the issue. My test device is an iPhone XR running iOS 18.0.1. I hope you can provide a demo so that I can test the issue you encountered.
I believe I’ve preloaded to avoid delays in the past. MP3 doesn’t get uncompressed. It’s compressed but can’t be taken back into a lossless file type like wav. Wav should take longer to load being a lot bigger in filesize compared to MP3 but like I said, I have a feeling preloading might solve your issue.
