For years I’ve characterized the Japanese powerhouse predominantly as a consumer electronics manufacturer. Over time the entertainment business has grown to become more than just a useful complementary asset and will account for over 60 percent of revenue by 2026 according to some estimates. Sony will always keep a foot in electronics.

At first, we went looking for some assets in the marketplace to get a running start, but soon realized that there are no 3D assets representing modern India out there! We hope to address this issue after our release, by giving assets back to the community so other creators dont hit roadblocks in telling their stories from modern India.

What build system do AAA studios typically use? I know that Electronic Arts has their own build system, but is this common?

This is because each game has its own file structure, asset list, and scripts that must be processed alongside building the code in order to result in a functioning game build. Every major studio I've worked at generally has their own automated build system. These build systems are not shared between projects at the same publisher.

Solo dev Jonathan C Haman created “the glorious Drift Type C – which no one is buying”

Haman in his home office, surrounded by unfinished electronics projects, lit by an implausible number of computer monitors and sipping off-brand energy drinks. To get the cars in Drift Type C well… drifting, Haman fixed a fundamental flaw in the Unity assets he used: “Two lines of nasty-hack later and the cars felt great and realistic.”
