Quests that do world building. Travel around gathering ingredients (which didn't feel tedious as you needed to Island-hop for other story & puzzle reasons) then cast spells that advance the story. Helping a NPC gets you a pet/sidekick [link] may I chime in? Say I need to get inside the castle. Is my only option stealth?

NOT telekinesis, only works on NPCs / PvP) Havoc (temporary shield / damage buff), very useful for people who keep dying (i.e. none of Dishonored's morality system and I think this is good, the "stealth puzzle = humane cage free assassination" philosophy has aged poorly imo 69% less stealth.

Some of this was used to just add nicer NPCs, with conversations, reactions to the environment, etc. Why did something like that come to be?
