NvRTX Artist Guide Learn more about the NVIDIA RTX Unreal Engine Branch (NvRTX), and discover technologies such as RTXDI, RTXGI, new denoisers like Relax, ray-traced volumetrics and tools like the BVH viewer. This session will cover several challenges developers can encounter when working to deploy raytracing in a game environment.
Branch offers all of the benefits of mainline UE4.26, while providing some additional features: Faster raytracing NVRTX includes a number of improvements to raytracing performance. Hybrid Translucency Another way to do raytraced translucency, with greater compatibility, speed and rendering options.
Good developer tools are like an x-ray machine that allows you to peek into the internals of the GPU. There is always some layer of abstraction between the physical computer and the application that you are building, but you can’t optimize and debug what you can’t see.
To enable this, set the ‘Capture Type’ to ‘One-shot [Beta]’ While TraceRays/DispatchRays has been the common way to initiate ray generation, it’s now possible to raytrace directly from your compute shaders using DXR1.1 and the new Khronos Vulkan RayTracing extension.

The main goal of my GSoC project is to completely rewrite the light mapper in Godot and, instead of a voxel approach, use raytracing to compute the scene lighting. I'm currently working on integrating Embree as a raytracing library into the Godot editor. These can only be dealt with manually while debugging.
Great for debugging and for real time in-game overlays. Latency Markers – Real time latency metrics broken down by game pipeline stage: Input, Simulation, Render Submission, Graphics Driver, Render Queue, and GPU Render. This is helpful when automating the use of a tool like the NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer to measure latency.
There were a few things I think I could have done better which would involve a better testing and debugging setup. Setting up the debugging caused me to waste some of my time, and I should probably have had a testing workflow prepared for stress testing the changes I was going to make. About the project experience. Minor regrets.
