Are games consoles facing extinction?

GamesIndustry.biz

The games industry is in constant flux; what we think we know today as fact is gone often completely different the next day. Once upon a time, we used to go to a brick and mortar shop to buy the latest releases; now we can snap them up online and download them to our device without leaving our homes. Developers used to have to partner with publishers for their games to reach market; now they can use digital platforms and release their wares into the world without a middle man.

How to decide for resource limits when developing games for pc? Like memory usage limit

Ask a Game Dev

If we're developing a cross-platform game, we aim for the best performance we can squeeze out of our lead platform. If we're targeting PS5 as our lead SKU, that's 16 gigs of RAM, 8 cores at 3.5 GHz, and so on. We aim the majority of our dev time for that first and then we adjust up/down for the other platforms we're building for to stay within reasonable performance specs.

[Solved] Shader Chunks: include = error (TypeError)

EDIT: I am now taking a deepdive into how the CC Shadersystem works. I think I can get rid of this error myself. I have an idea why this might throw an error. (Besides, the CC effect VS Extension does nothing for me: I am on Mac OXSX 10.14.6, so maybe it will not work on a(n older) Mac?) Below is the original Answer, without the CCEffects Shader Examples that I wanted to add, but that is now obsolete: Sure!
